Geetha Bakilapadavu is an Associate Professor at BITS Pilani, K. K. Birla Goa Campus. She has been working in interdisciplinary areas of research and is adept at finding ways to make interdisciplinary connections. Her Doctoral research was in the area of interphase between Science Fiction and Philosophy. She is a recipient of Science Fiction Foundation, Liverpool Bursary Award. She was a visiting scholar at Georgia Tech University, Atlanta in the year 2015. Her current research interests are Film and Cognition, Digital Humanities, and Creative Pedagogies. She has been offering courses in the areas of Film Studies, Literature, Film Making, and Humanities & Design. Apart from journal publications in the area of education, literature and film studies, she has edited an anthology of essays titled Exploring Science Fiction: Text and Pedagogy. She nurtures creative interests, has published poems and has been working towards a musical documentary film.
